| Greetings!
NAMM 2007 is behind us. What a BLAST that was. Read below
for two perspectives, mine and that of Rob Roberge.
This month Joey Leone is back with some recording
tips, Don Mackrill discusses the virtues of a
boutique AMP, Michael
Wright remembers the Alamo and Kirk Lorange drops back in
for a lesson on drop-D tuning, PART 2.
We are adding yet another section this month entitled Me
and My EASTWOOD where we will highlight some of our
customers experiences with their EASTWOOD. First up is PIMP
MY EASTWOOD!

I have been recording since 1980, mostly in home studios.
And just for the record I will give you an idea of what was in
my first few home studios, it was no digital 8 track the size
of a paperback novel. My first home recording set up was an
Akai ¼ inch 2 track and a Harmon Kardon cassette deck, no EQ,
the only effects I had were a few effects pedals.

By Michael Wright, The Different Strummer
It's not often you see a guitar than looks like a squashed
Strat, one that got run over by a truck! On purpose, no less!
Or maybe a better description is a guitar that came right off
the set of the '90s Kitsch, campy classic, Pee Wee's
Playhouse.

No, that's not me. Yes, it's Gene Simmons. But I had just
as much fun. Observations? Here goes.... The NAMM show is
incredibly HUGE. It's fitting that it's across the street from
Disneyland, as you end up walking just as much as you would at
the self-proclaimed happiest place on earth (not when there's
a million guitars across the street, Walt). On a further plus,
there's a lot less puke and fewer children at the NAMM
show...

You've finally made your decision to slap down some of your
scarce cash on a reissue or new model tube amp built in the
Far East for a BIG name manufacturer. It seems like a great
deal...

Here is another interesting look at how notes conveniently
line themselves up in standard/dropped D for slide. I've
played this in D, but these positions exist for any other
chord. They may jog themselves into new octaves, but these
double stops belong to all keys.

NOTABLE...

Like a tornado ripping through town, the 2007 NAMM show
came and went. For EASTWOOD Guitars, it was our first - and
what an eye-opening experience it was. Although exibiting in
the 4-day event cost as much as buying a first home in
Winnipeg, looking back, it was worth every penny. What a trip!
Here are some observations from the helm of EASTWOOD....
